Professional Collection and Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Printed circuit boards are not only found in computers; old monitor boards, laptop boards and CPU’s (central processing units) they are used in a vast array of different products. Scrap car management systems, boilers, televisions, telecommunication boards, scrap mobile phones, games consoles, all contain printed circuit boards, the list is almost endless. These days, every electronic device contains one or more printed circuit board and as technology progresses, so will the number of printed circuit boards out there.

Many people aren’t aware that printed circuit boards contain gold, as it is an excellent conductor and resistant to corrosion too. For these reasons, manufacturers use gold pins and connectors in their printed circuit boards. Over recent times, the value of gold has increased significantly, making printed circuit board recycling even more viable than ever.

If making money from items you would have just thrown away isn’t reason enough, the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive came into force in 2003. This directive requires by law, that sufficient electrical equipment is recycled to within certain targets. Being environmentally responsible is also important for a lot of organisations.

Give us a Call for a Prompt Competitive Valuation

All Waste Matters are really proud of the fact that we provide prompt evaluations, at competitive rates for recyclable printed circuit boards. We are equally prompt when it comes to making payments too, and if you need a certificate of destruction, we are happy to provide one.

We also recycle the following:

  • Shredded / Un-shredded Hard Drives
  • Gold Pins
  • Connectors
  • CPUs
  • Server Boards
  • PC monitors

How Does it Work?

We are able to give an idea of a value via pictures of the PCB’s however samples are usually the best way to give a true valuation.

Once we receive a batch of printed circuit boards for recycling, they are processed by our skilled technicians. Each board is meticulously stripped of its components, that are then categorised as to how they will be recycled. Here is a list of a few examples:

  • Integrated circuits containing gold will be further processed to recover the precious metal.
  • Gold plated plugs and connectors will also be further processed
  • Other parts of the printed circuit boards also contain precious metals, which can be recovered.
  • Edge connectors

Contact us today and we can help you meet your legal requirements, as well as disposing of your old or obsolete printed circuit boards in an environmentally responsible way. On top of all that, you will make money from items you may otherwise have just thrown away.

All Waste are also able to offer disposal of a range of other WEEE wastes so please contact us for a free quotation.
