Waste Management Services

We use a number of hazardous waste recycling facilities, all of which are fully licensed, monitored and frequently inspected by the regulatory authorities such as the Environment Agency. In addition our waste carriers license enables us to collect Hazardous Waste materials on the road and move wastes across national borders to treatment facilities when required.

We can handle all volumes of Hazardous Waste from full bulk loads to a single liquid waste container, providing full labeling, packing and analysis where required.

We hold all relevant government licences for the safe disposal and recycling of 99% of commercial wastes.

The management of waste is a key component in a business' ability to gain and maintain ISO14001 accreditations. Companies are encouraged to improve their environmental efficiencies each year and one such way to do this is by improving a company's waste management with a new recycling service.

To take responsibility for our impact on the climate, we are offsetting the carbon emissions from our business with Climate Care. To find out more about Climate Care and its projects, see www.climatecare.org.

With our vast experience and extensive knowledge concerning Hazardous chemical waste disposal, we can advise of the most efficient and environmentally friendly disposal and recycling routes for both your Hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
There are four main disposal routes for these wastes:

1. Hazardous Waste Recycling:
By far the preferred option, recycling involves processing used Hazardous waste into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials. Just some of the benefits include: a reduction in the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduced energy usage, less air pollution from incineration and water pollution from landfilling.

Recycling also includes the reclamation of precious metals from Hazardous liquid wastes and various scrap items such as circuit boards. The value of these precious metals usually far exceeds the recovery costs, ensuring recycling remains an economically viable option.

2. Recovery and Treatment:
Liquid chemical waste can be treated by neutralisation and by using other chemical solutions to break down the Hazardous properties in the waste stream. Sometimes chemical waste collected from one manufacturing process can be used in this treatment, allowing us to pass the saving on to the customer and ensuring our Hazardous waste treatment facilities remain extremely efficient.

3. Incineration:
Heavy criticism in the past has led to an undeniable improvement in the technology, regulation and processes used, making incineration safer and more environmentally friendly. Incineration can be a valuable tool for dealing with hazardous combustible organic wastes, deemed unsuitable for landfill due to toxicity or resistance to natural breakdown.

3. Hazardous Landfill:
Traditionally the cheapest option for some hazardous waste, landfill has become less viable and practical due to changes in capacity and acceptance criteria. All Waste Matters have already greatly reduced hazardous waste treated in this way and are currently striving towards a 100% recycling rate.
