With our vast experience and extensive knowledge concerning
Hazardous chemical waste disposal, we can advise of the most
efficient and environmentally friendly disposal and recycling
routes for both your Hazardous and non-hazardous wastes.
There are four main disposal routes for these wastes:
1. Hazardous Waste Recycling:
By far the preferred option, recycling involves processing used
Hazardous waste into new products to prevent waste of potentially
useful materials. Just some of the benefits include: a reduction
in the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduced energy usage,
less air pollution from incineration and water pollution from
landfilling.
Recycling also includes the reclamation of precious metals
from Hazardous liquid wastes and various scrap items such as
circuit boards. The value of these precious metals usually far
exceeds the recovery costs, ensuring recycling remains an economically
viable option.
2. Recovery and Treatment:
Liquid chemical waste can be treated by neutralisation and by
using other chemical solutions to break down the Hazardous properties
in the waste stream. Sometimes chemical waste collected from
one manufacturing process can be used in this treatment, allowing
us to pass the saving on to the customer and ensuring our Hazardous
waste treatment facilities remain extremely efficient.

3. Incineration:
Heavy criticism in the past has led to an undeniable improvement
in the technology, regulation and processes used, making incineration
safer and more environmentally friendly. Incineration can be
a valuable tool for dealing with hazardous combustible organic
wastes, deemed unsuitable for landfill due to toxicity or resistance
to natural breakdown.
3. Hazardous Landfill:
Traditionally the cheapest option for some hazardous waste, landfill
has become less viable and practical due to changes in capacity
and acceptance criteria. All Waste Matters have already greatly
reduced hazardous waste treated in this way and are currently
striving towards a 100% recycling rate.
